Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Android SMS Relay accesses and uses Google user data. The service is a personal utility operated by the owner of zdudci.com.

What the service does

Android SMS Relay runs locally on the owner's Mac. It discovers Android devices that the owner has authorized through USB debugging, reads newly received SMS from those devices, and sends each new SMS to an email address chosen by the owner.

Google user data accessed

The service requests only these Google OAuth permissions:

Account identity
The openid and userinfo.email scopes confirm that the authorized account is the owner's intended Gmail account.
Send email
The gmail.send scope lets the local relay send the forwarding email on the owner's behalf.

The service does not request permission to read, list, modify, or delete Gmail messages. It does not access Google Contacts, Drive, Calendar, or other Google products.

How data is used

Google user data is used solely to authenticate the selected Gmail account and send the forwarding emails requested by the owner. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any unrelated purpose. Google user data is not sold or shared with third parties.

Storage and retention

OAuth client credentials and tokens are stored only on the owner's Mac with restricted local file permissions. The public website does not receive or store SMS content, OAuth tokens, or Gmail data. The local relay stores only the last processed SMS identifier for each authorized device so it can avoid skipping or repeating messages.

Security and control

Access is protected by Google OAuth and restricted to the minimum scopes described above. The owner can revoke access at any time from the Google Account connections page. Revoking access stops future Gmail API delivery until the owner authorizes it again.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Android SMS Relay's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date before they take effect.
